Sedation Dentistry

Young children and those who have high levels of anxiety may require oral conscious sedation medication and analgesia (nitrous oxide) to allow completion of dental procedures.  Pediatric sedation dentistry is also helpful for patients who have special needs, are medically compromised or to help children avoid developing a dental phobia.

In-office sedation at Pediatric Dentistry North will require the parent to administer a pre-medication to their child before the appointment.  The patient will also have dietary restrictions for several hours prior to the appointment.  The pre-operative instructions will be discussed during the doctor/parent consultation appointment  in addition to being provided in written form.

The medications used for in-office sedation are very safe and effective in producing a pleasant and comfortable dental experience.
